Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Department Assistant, you will coordinate and complete patient access, clerical, reception, and other duties within the department. Your role is vital for efficient daily operations and positive patient experience.
Every day you will manage complex patient rescheduling and appointment confirmations, meticulously handle inventory, and assist with restocking. You will also perform various administrative tasks to support department functioning.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach. Your ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively is crucial.

  • Greets arriving patients and their families, visitors and other hospital/medical staff in a kind, courteous manner
  • Keeps lobby and public areas organized and professional in appearance
  • Manages multiple phone lines, maintaining a positive, cheerful demeanor
  • Pre-registers patients in all programs efficiently and accurately
  • Coordinates intake of new outpatients, including multidisciplinary referrals
  • Schedules complex new patient appointments accurately, and in an appropriate manner as per scheduling guidelines
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) - Three (3) years of secretarial experience

Preferred

  • Secretarial experience in healthcare setting
  • Insurance authorization and insurance benefit verification experience
  • Accounts Receivable experience in ahealthcare business setting
