Location:
Oncology Consultants - Business Office
Pay Range:
$12.82 - $20.27
Schedule chemotherapy appointments according to physicians' orders, outside testing and referrals.
Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Key Performance Areas
KPA 1 - Infusion Scheduling & Coordination
  • Oversee daily infusion and chemotherapy scheduling.
  • Schedule infusion treatments, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinate schedule changes with physicians, leadership, and clinical staff.
  • Ensure scheduling aligns with staffing, physician availability, and treatment requirements.
  • Confirm necessary equipment and resources are available for treatments.
KPA 2 - Patient Intake & Documentation
  • Collect patient consents and insurance information for infusion services.
  • Ensure insurance authorizations are obtained prior to treatment.
  • Process physician referrals and incoming patient documentation.
  • Maintain accurate infusion and patient documentation within the EMR system.
KPA 3 - Patient Accounts Receivable Support
  • Review and resolve patient AR balances using work queues and aging reports.
  • Document patient account activity and communications accurately.
  • Identify and escalate payment trends or barriers to leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with billing, collections, and privacy regulations.
KPA 4 - Customer Service & Communication
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
  • Maintain effective communication with providers, leadership, and team members.
  • Demonstrate strong follow-through, professionalism, and service orientation.
KPA 5 - Compliance & Safety
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an organized work environment and proper use of company equipment.
Position Qualifications
Education
  • High school education required; Associates degree preferred
Minimum Relevant Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as chemo scheduler; oncology required
