ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
  • Responsible for promoting culture of safety
  • Works to a daily Production Schedule
  • Ensures the safe operation of an automatic Horizontal band saw, Vertical Bandsaw, Abrasive Cutoff Saw, and/or Cold Saw.
  • Cuts Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper stock to correct length and measurements.
  • Reads and interprets basic blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and work orders.
  • Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean and safe at all times.
  • Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Unload raw materials from semi-trucks and store material.
  • Maintains material traceability for all raw materials.
  • Collect and dump chip bins daily.
  • Schedules scrap pickups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform all work in accordance to ISO processes and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Materials such as: Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper
  • Knowledge of Trade tools, equipment, materials, Calipers, tape measure, methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
  • 1-2 years similar of experience, preferred
  • Experience using a band saw, preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • None required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
  • Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to _50_ pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to clearly focus vision.

  • Eye protection, ear protection, and as required, steel-toed shoes and head protection.
