Client Job Description
Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland Salary: Commensurate with experience/education Job Description: The candidate must be familiar with the Army and DoD standards โ€“ guiding the development of satellite communications (SATCOM) aspects of the Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN) architecture, including implementation of the physical network underlying these systems. The candidate need to be familiar with tactical SATCOM including Protected SATCOM Modems, iDirect, Viasat, Linkway, and Network Centric Waveform (NCW) modems and their functionality. The candidate will serve as subject matter experts in all aspects of SATCOM, to include modulation and coding, link budgets, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation and other algorithms/protocols. The candidate must be familiar with the commercial SATCOM industry, to include multi-orbit (LEO/MEO/GEO), for increased use and integration by the Tactical Army. The candidate will be responsible for understanding Electronic Warfare (EW) threats against the systems under management. The candidate will coordinate SATCOM efforts to include prioritizing projects and tasks and work with system integrators. The candidate will provide technical support in all PM TN equipment labs and run lab experiments with regards to SATCOM in addition to working with baseband networking configurations to integrate PM TN products. The candidate will participate in evaluation and analysis of S&T capabilities for potential integration into the PM TN portfolio of systems. MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Candidate must be a US Citizen in order to obtain and maintain an interim and final security clearance. It is critical for candidates to have in depth knowledge of the listed skill sets. Required Skills: Must have at least 3 years of experience (5+ years desired) with being a SATCOM Engineer
Travel required: Up to 20% (typically, a lot less) Position Overview: SATCOM Engineer for Project Manager Tactical Network. Candidate will guide the development and integration of existing and future SATCOM equipment/services across Project Manager Tactical Network systems. Special Requirements:
Security Clearance: Secret Experience and Education:
Masterโ€™s Degree is equal to Bachelorโ€™s Degree plus three (3) years applicable experience, or Associateโ€™s Degree plus six (6) years applicable experience, or High School Diploma plus nine (9) years applicable experience extensive related technical or field experience is required.
