What you'll do Viasat is seeking a Systems Engineer for Verification and Validation efforts in support of our work as a prime contractor on a DoD SATCOM program. The ideal candidate will be someone who can collaboratively develop system verification strategies spanning the end-to-end SATCOM architecture, including the space segment, ground segment, and network interfaces. We are looking for a highly engaging, team-oriented and self-starting individual who can communicate and collaborate across multi-disciplinary engineering boundaries in a dynamic program environment. The day-to-day * Develop a comprehensive V&V strategy for end-to-end SATCOM systems, including space, ground, and network segments
* Engage with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and stakeholders to ensure alignment
* Manage system requirements to ensure clarity, traceability, and verifiability
* Decompose system requirements to ensure bi-directional traceability to verification events and artifacts
* Develop and maintain Requirement Verification Compliance Matrices (RVCMs) and Requirement Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs) and related work products
* Develop and deliver technical documentation and customer presentations supporting verification activities
* Present V&V strategy, status, and results at technical and program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) What you'll need * Bachelor of Science degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent years of related work experience.
* 8+ years' experience supporting systems engineering efforts on commercial, Civil, or DoD programs
* 2+ years supporting space programs
* Demonstrated experience with requirements management, decomposition, and verification planning
* Experience with satellite and ground station development, integration, and test lifecycles
* Experience working on systems engineering projects involving multiple systems engineering teams
* Strong communication and presentation skills, including customer-facing experience
* Strong organizational, time management, and project execution skills
* Proficiency with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
* Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
* Able to travel approx. 10% of the time What will help you on the job * Experience leading or owning system-level V&V across multiple segments (space, ground, network)
* Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in complex systems engineering across the product development lifecycle
* Experience with technical presentations and customer-facing activities
* Experience with MBSE tools and methodologies (SysML, Cameo, etc.)
* Experience with system analysis and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, STK) Salary range $141,500.00 - $224,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $176,000.00- $264,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
