Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs clerical, organizational and communication functions in support of a patient care unit. May be assigned to work in psychiatric overflow areas as requested by management.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
  • Proficient in keyboard operations and basic computer applications. Ability to operate standard office machines.
  • BLS certification; renewal required bi-annually
  • NCI/MH/DD/SAS Training within 3 months of hire; recertification required annually.

Preferred:
  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology and hospital operations upon hire.

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication during interaction with others.
  • Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
