Position: SAP S4 HANA Data Migration Consultant

Location: Houston, TX - Hybrid, 1 Day Remote

Compensation: $90.00 - $130.00 / Per Hour

Employment Type: Long term Contract

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Overview

A large organization is beginning a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation and is seeking three experienced SAP Data Migration professionals to support the transformation. These resources will partner with internal business and IT stakeholders and the implementation partner to define and execute the data migration and conversion strategy from legacy environments into S/4HANA. The positions may range from senior hands-on Data Migration Consultants/Developers to Data Migration Leads, depending on experience and the final division of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support or lead data migration and conversion activities for a greenfield S/4HANA implementation
  • Participate in the blueprint and design phase and help define the legacy data migration approach
  • Analyze legacy and S/4 data structures and define source-to-target mappings
  • Partner with functional and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Define and support data cleansing, transformation, mapping, validation, and reconciliation
  • Support mock conversions, testing, cutover, and go-live
  • Identify data-quality issues and coordinate their resolution
  • Work closely with the implementation partner while representing the organization’s requirements
  • Communicate technical data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Depending on seniority, independently own portions of the data migration workstream and drive cross-functional decisions

Must-Haves

  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience
  • Greenfield S/4HANA implementation experience
  • Hands-on SAP data migration or data conversion experience
  • Strong understanding of SAP and S/4 data structures
  • Experience with source-to-target mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation
  • Ability to work across technical, functional, and business teams
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with business leaders
  • Ability to operate independently within a large, complex implementation
  • Houston-based or willing to travel to Houston frequently

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of SAP or data experience
  • Multiple end-to-end SAP implementations
  • Experience supporting an S/4 implementation from blueprint and design through go-live
  • Previous ownership or leadership of a data migration workstream
  • Experience working alongside a major systems integrator or consulting partner
  • Utility or energy industry experience
  • Functional or domain experience within Finance, Supply Chain, and/or EAM

Tooling

Experience with tools such as SAP Migration Cockpit, Syniti, SAP BODS/Data Services, or Informatica is helpful but not required. The selected professional should be able to learn and adapt to the program’s chosen toolset.
