Junior Salesforce Developer
Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School (CRIPCS) is seeking a Junior Salesforce Developer to support the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of our Salesforce-based Student Information System (SIS) and related Education Cloud solutions.
This role will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Technology and in collaboration with the SILS (Student Information & Learning Systems) team, systems team, and external implementation partners. The Junior Salesforce Developer will help build scalable, secure, and user-centered solutions that support student enrollment, academic operations, reporting, and institutional workflows.
Experience in the education sector is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Development & Configuration
  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Salesforce applications within Education Cloud.
  • Build and modify:
    • Custom objects, fields, validation rules
    • Flows (Record-Triggered, Screen Flows)
    • Approval processes
    • Page layouts and Lightning record pages
  • Support Apex development (under supervision):
    • Apex classes and triggers
    • Test classes and code coverage
  • Develop and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) as needed.
SIS & Academic Workflow Support
  • Support development of modules related to:
    • Student data management
    • Admissions and enrollment workflows
    • Course scheduling and registration
    • Attendance and grading processes
  • Assist in ensuring FERPA-aligned data security and role-based access controls.
Reporting & Data Management
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards for academic and operational stakeholders.
  • Support data imports, exports, and data quality validation.
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity across integrated systems.
Integration & Collaboration
  • Support API integrations with third-party systems (LMS, assessment tools, payment systems, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with:
    • Business Analyst (requirements clarification)
    • SILS team (functional validation)
    • Systems team (security and infrastructure alignment)
    • External Salesforce implementation partners
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and solution design discussions.
Quality Assurance & Documentation
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Support UAT testing cycles.
  • Assist in release management and deployment processes.
  • Follow version control and change management best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience working with Salesforce (internship or entry-level acceptable).
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (required or must obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Foundational knowledge of:
    • Apex
    • SOQL
    • Lightning Experience
    • Flow Builder
  • Basic understanding of relational data models.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud.
  • Prior work in K-12, adult education, higher education, or nonprofit environments.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification.
  • Experience with:
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • REST/SOAP APIs
    • Data migration tools (Data Loader, ETL tools)
  • Understanding of data privacy frameworks (FERPA preferred).
