Description:

Employment Type: Full-time, W2 position with Cogent People Inc. This is a direct hire position with full benefits.


Location: Hybrid (Columbia, MD – 2 days onsite per week) OR Remote (as applicable to role)


Work Authorization Requirements:
To comply with government contracting requirements, candidates must meet all of the following:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid EAD holder
  • Must have lived in the United States for at least 3 of the past 5 years
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Sponsorship (H-1B) is not available for this position (now or in the future). Candidates who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

Public Trust Clearance required or ability to obtain one, depending on assignment.

Overview


Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Salesforce Developer with strong expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and data integrations. In this role, you will deliver both declarative and custom-built Salesforce solutions supporting mission-critical environments.

You will work across enterprise systems, integrating Salesforce with AWS services, external applications, and other Salesforce orgs, while collaborating closely with engineering, testing, security, and compliance teams.

This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving complex integration problems, building scalable solutions, and contributing in a highly collaborative, regulated environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop, and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow, leveraging both declarative and programmatic approaches.
  • Build and support Salesforce features across custom development and configuration.
  • Build and support Salesforce integrations using APIs (REST/SOAP) and file-based exchange mechanisms.
  • Develop AI-enabled features leveraging Salesforce Einstein and agentic AI patterns where applicable.
  • Support production systems, including troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of incidents.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards, code quality, and deployment practices.
  • Collaborate with operations, testing, security, and compliance teams to ensure secure and reliable delivery.
  • Participate in DevSecOps practices, including version control and CI/CD pipelines as applicable.
Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Salesforce development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Platform Events, and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of REST and/or SOAP APIs and service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience working in federal, regulated, or enterprise environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Salesforce Platform Developer certification(s).
  • Experience with Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, or agentic AI capabilities.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS, Microsoft Office 365, and complex enterprise systems.
  • Prior experience supporting federal government programs or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Salesforce ecosystems.
