Sales Support Representative – Tuscaloosa & Surrounding Markets

About AlaBev:
AlaBev is a family-owned beverage distributor serving the entire state of Alabama since 1907. We represent a diverse portfolio of beer, wine, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, and energy brands. We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic Sales Support Representative to join our team in the Tuscaloosa market and surrounding areas.
Position Summary:
The Sales Support Representative is a full-time position that works across both our On-Premise and Off-Premise sales divisions. This role serves as a key support resource for our sales team by helping execute retail standards, covering sales routes during vacations or absences, merchandising accounts, building displays, introducing new products, and assisting with sales initiatives throughout the market.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in beverage sales and gain experience across multiple channels of the business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Merchandise retail accounts to AlaBev standards.
  • Build and maintain displays, cold boxes, and point-of-sale materials.
  • Sell and introduce new products to retail and on-premise accounts.
  • Assist sales representatives with account development and execution.
  • Team sell with sales representatives to grow distribution and volume.
  • Cover sales routes during vacations, sick leave, and other absences.
  • Conduct account surveys, resets, and promotional executions.
  • Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays are fully stocked and properly rotated.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Assist with special events, samplings, and market activations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with sales management, delivery teams, and customers.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous sales, merchandising, retail, restaurant, or beverage industry experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn product knowledge and sales techniques quickly.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cases weighing 20–25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in coolers, warehouses, and retail environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors and travel throughout the assigned territory.
