Are you interested in Becoming a Power Systems Technician? If so, we have the OPPORTUNITY you have been waiting for!! BPS will be running our Power Systems Academy starting August 17th, 2026!!!
Buckeye Power Sales has been providing on site power solutions for businesses, contractors, engineers, municipalities and homeowners since 1947, which makes us the oldest Rehlko (formerly Kohler) generator distributor in the country. We are also a distributor of Siemens Energy engines and generators for a wide range of power generation applications such as combined heat and power, waste to power, prime, and continuous. From power generation to light construction to grounds care - we have the machines, equipment, parts, programs & service to help you get the job done.
What is PSA?
  • 6-week training program to become a Generator/Power Construction Equipment Technician
  • Located at our Canal Winchester, Ohio Facility
  • Monday-Friday classroom training
  • Online Classroom with homework and quizzes

What does BPS provide?
  • Hotel for out of town students
  • Breakfast at hotel (if staying), Lunch during class and a group Dinner 1x/week
  • Weekly Meal allowance
  • Tool allowance (after completion)
  • Company Vehicle (after completion)

What is expected of you?
  • BE THERE (On-time)
  • Ability to get to Columbus, Ohio (transportation and mileage not provided)
  • 3-year commitment in a PS role after completion of class
  • Ability/Willingness to learn - ongoing training during your career
  • Complete homework and quizzes at home

After Graduation, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing Maintenance on Customer Equipment
  • Servicing Customers with Planned Maintenance Agreements
  • Generator Troubleshooting
  • After-Hours Callouts (Ability to be On-Call rotation for nights and weekends)
  • Continued Growth and Education in Power Systems Field (Must obtain EGSA certification)
  • Communicating with our Customers with details about their Generators

Challenges of Being a PS Tech:
  • Working outside in the weather elements (sun, snow, rain, high winds, etc.)
  • Working in high places (roofs, ladders, etc.)
  • Working in small spaces
  • Heavy Physical Aspect (Lift & Carry)
  • Electrical Hazard Exposure/Arc Flash
