Job Summary

The Senior Sales Planner will work across multiple business groups in support of reporting, analysis, forecasting and communication of sales performance and high impact business initiatives to drive data-driven decisions and profitable growth. Key activities will include developing insightful reporting and forecasting business opportunities and risks, coordinating planning with FP&A, and helping the Sales team collaborate with various teams across Hillman to plan and track new programs. This role will also be instrumental in tracking the impact of these initiatives and developing ongoing reporting. This role reports to the Manager, Sales Planning.

Essential Job Functions *

Sales Analytics

  • Develop and operate scalable reporting, forecasting templates, and overall business intelligence infrastructure.
  • Establish performance baselines for modeling key consumer actions.
  • Lead tracking, monitoring, and reporting of ongoing sales performance.
  • Provide accurate analysis relative to customer sales trends, weeks of supply and inventory analysis.
  • Provide frequent, time-sensitive, ad hoc insights to inform executive decision-making.
  • Track and analyze key promotional plans, new programs and tests.

Financial Forecasting

  • Build and maintain reports to track team sales performance vs. Financial Plans.
  • Work closely with Consumer functional leads to develop business growth assumptions.
  • Utilize customer Point of Sale (POS) data to identify opportunities and assist National Account Managers in adjusting plans to meet and exceed annual goals and objectives.

Visual & Presentation Creation

  • Support creation of impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, etc.) that effectively communicate financial projections, drivers, performance, risks, and opportunities to support prioritization discussions that will shape roadmap development

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of sales support, sales analysis or sales operations experience.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint) including ability to utilize pivot tables, V-lookups, filters, and summarize data graphically.
  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI is a plus.
