Is it hard to join SAG-AFTRA?

Joining SAG-AFTRA as a performer typically requires meeting specific eligibility criteria, such as accumulating work credits in union-approved productions and obtaining a background check. Candidates often need to be recommended by union members or participate in union auditions, making the process competitive but structured. The difficulty varies depending on experience, industry connections, and the availability of union work opportunities.

What are SAG-AFTRA remote jobs?

SAG-AFTRA remote jobs are positions within the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) that can be performed from home or outside a traditional office setting. These roles may include administrative, legal, membership services, communications, and support positions that do not require physical presence at a SAG-AFTRA office. Remote jobs offer flexibility and can be ideal for individuals seeking a better work-life balance while supporting the union’s mission to advocate for media professionals’ rights. Applicants typically need a reliable internet connection and may be expected to attend virtual meetings or collaborate through digital platforms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a SAG-AFTRA Remote Performer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a SAG-AFTRA Remote Performer, you need strong acting skills, voice control, and familiarity with union guidelines, typically supported by SAG-AFTRA membership. Proficiency with remote recording tools, video conferencing platforms, and home studio equipment is essential. Adaptability, self-motivation, and effective communication help performers collaborate remotely and respond to direction without in-person guidance. These skills ensure high-quality performances, compliance with union standards, and successful engagement in a remote work environment.

What are some typical responsibilities of a SAG-AFTRA member working remotely, and how does remote work affect collaboration with production teams?

As a SAG-AFTRA member working remotely, you may be responsible for tasks such as recording voiceovers, participating in virtual table reads, or self-taping auditions from your home studio. Remote work often requires strong communication skills and comfort with various digital collaboration tools, as you'll interact with directors, casting agents, and production staff online. While you may not be on set, you'll still need to adhere to union guidelines and maintain professional standards. Collaboration remains key, with regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and digital file sharing to ensure your contributions align with the project's vision.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

Earning $2000 a week working from home as a SAG-AFTRA remote actor or performer typically requires multiple high-paying gigs, consistent work, or building a steady client base. Skills in acting, voice-over, or digital content creation, along with a professional portfolio and reliable internet, can help increase earning potential. Many remote entertainment roles pay per project or session, so diversifying skills and networking are key to reaching higher weekly income levels.

Is Trump a member of the screen actor guild?

Donald Trump is not a member of SAG-AFTRA, the union representing screen actors and performers. SAG-AFTRA membership typically requires acting work and union dues; Trump is primarily known as a businessman and former president. For SAG-AFTRA members, union membership can involve acting in film, television, or voice-over roles, often with specific eligibility criteria.

What is the SAG 30 day rule?

The SAG 30 day rule applies to SAG-AFTRA members working on union productions, stating that if a performer works more than 30 days on a project, they may be required to join the union or meet specific eligibility criteria. This rule helps determine union membership obligations and benefits for performers in film and television work.

You Have:
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Current bar admission in a minimum of one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 5+ years of legal practice at a law firm and/or in-house setting, with a minimum of 4+ years dedicated to commercial advertising production, performer contracting, or media/entertainment business affairs
  • Proven track record preparing and executing commercial advertising contracts, including SAG-AFTRA commercials agreements, on-camera and voice-over performer deals, music rights agreements, deal memos, production house contracts, and performer usage and exclusivity arrangements
  • Knowledge of SAG-AFTRA guild rules, signatory responsibilities, and low-budget/new media contract frameworks
  • Experience drafting and negotiating IP licensing and content clearance agreements
  • Exposure to AI-related legal considerations in creative or marketing settings, including generative AI usage policies, ownership of AI-generated content, and drafting AI-related terms in vendor and platform contracts
  • Capacity to pivot rapidly in a high-velocity, ever-changing environment with competing demands
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver practical, commercially grounded guidance to diverse stakeholders
  • Track record of weighing legal exposure against business goals
  • Collaborative mindset and constructive, can-do approach
  • Orientation toward pragmatic, results-driven counsel

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience working at an advertising agency, commercial production company, talent agency, or in-house at a consumer brand or tech company with a high-volume commercial/marketing production operation
  • Experience working with music publishing companies, recording labels, or in the synchronization licensing space
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology company, start-up, or direct-to-consumer brand
  • Hands-on counsel provided in connection with AI technologies and platforms deployed in creative, marketing, or content pipelines (e.g., generative image/video/audio tools, AI-assisted post-production, synthetic media applications)
  • Acquaintance with healthcare privacy related laws and related healthcare regulatory frameworks is a bonus

Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):
  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles
  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
