Environment Health and Safety Engineer - Fort Wayne, IN
Zing Recruiting has partnered with a top Medical Device manufacturing company to fill and Environmental Health and Safety Engineer role.
The incumbent will assist the Operations manager to assure EHS complain with both government and company mandated practice and procudures.
Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, Safety or other relatable field
  • 2-3+ experience in an EHS role within manufacturing
Responsibilities Include:
  • Follow all company core beliefs as well as all safety and quality requirements, including company Quality Management System (QMS); Environmental, Health & Safety; company policies, procedures, and work instructions; and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation and onboarding activities
  • Assist the Operations Manager in the coordination of all plant EHS activities and programs (Incident Analysis and Investigation, Update and maintain as necessary all EHS procedures, Equipment Training and Certification, Maintaining programs for Plant and Personnel Safety).
  • Create action plan to identify and manage risks, and correct unsafe conditions throughout the facility using Incident Reporting Database.
  • Assist in the identification of new equipment and manufacturing technologies to improve manufacturing safety and overall facility safety.
  • Assist in the facilitation of site EHS functions, including routine meetings, awareness campaigns, and the performance of EHS facility assessments, reporting on the results of same to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist the facility in maintaining compliance with OSHA, USEPA, PADEP and other government regulatory agencies.
  • Will collect and collate data for the creation and submittal of related reports/permits such as but not limited to: Title V; NPDES; NESHAP; RCRA; Tier II: AIMS; TRI; Form 26R; Quarterly Hazardous Waste Manifest and Monthly Wastewater Report.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with local wastewater treatment agency and disposition of hazardous waste material.
  • Assist with and/ or handle internal audits and assessments related to EHS compliance. Assist as necessary in the performance and completion of agency assessments and/or inspections within the facility.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and maintain practices, improve procedures to achieve plant-wide goals as they relate to Energy Conservation, Waste-to-Landfill Elimination, and other sustainability programs.

Pays up to 100k based upon experience.
