Job description

The Geology department on the campus of Sac State is seeking to hire two students to provide assistance in the Wagner Aquatic and Geochemistry Spectroscopy (WAGS) Lab.The WAGS Lab is housed in Sequoia Hall and projects are centered around paleoclimate and palaeoceanographic research. This funded opportunity is specifically to support a current NSF-funded project to analyze seawater samples collected from the Pacific and Indian Oceans for oxygen and hydrogen isotopes. Students will prepare samples for analysis, perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the analyzer, clean sample vials, and perform quality checks of the data. Students will have the opportunity to be a part of the scientific team from Sac State and Rutgers University interpreting and analyzing the data. Presentation and publication co-authorship is encouraged but not expected.
