Job description

About Us:
Wettermark Keith is a rapidly growing national personal injury firm. We pride ourselves on our integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. At Wettermark Keith, we understand that our work extends far beyond the courtroom. We engage with people during some of the most challenging times of their lives - moments filled with uncertainty, fear, and stress. Our clients come to us in the aftermath of tragic accidents, seeking not just legal representation, but a beacon of hope for their future.
Purpose:
Wettermark Keith's Veterans Disability Practice is expanding and seeking to hire a VA Attorney (entry-level or experienced) with a strong interest in veterans disability law. Our veterans practice has been built over more than a decade and is structured, production-driven, and focused on delivering meaningful results for disabled veterans nationwide.
This full-time, in-person position may be based in any of our following offices: Birmingham, AL, Chattanooga, TN, Knoxville, TN, or Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on advocacy role involving ownership of a substantial VA disability caseload. The position includes:
  • Reviewing VBMS and claims files in detail
  • Identifying legal errors and viable theories of entitlement
  • Drafting and filing appeals and written arguments
  • Preparing Higher-Level Reviews and Board appeals
  • Communicating directly with clients
  • Managing deadlines and workflow independently

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys producing strong written work efficiently and taking responsibility for outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • J.D. required
  • Active bar license in at least one state required
  • Admission to CAVC a plus (not required)
  • Entry-level candidates will be considered if they demonstrate strong writing ability and a serious commitment to veterans disability practice

Ideal Candidate:
  • Organized and deadline-driven
  • Comfortable managing a meaningful caseload
  • Strong written communicator
  • Self-motivated and accountable
  • Values efficiency and measurable output
  • Genuinely committed to representing veterans
  • Experience in VA disability practice is strongly preferred, but high-performing attorneys new to the field will be considered.

Compensation & Growth:
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Clear expectations and measurable production standards
  • Autonomy with support
  • Opportunity for growth as the practice expands
