What does a roofing sales rep do?

A roofing sales representative is responsible for finding potential customers, assessing their roofing needs, and selling roofing services or products. They often inspect roofs, provide cost estimates, and explain the benefits of different roofing solutions. Additionally, they may coordinate with installation teams, handle customer inquiries, and follow up after the job is completed to ensure customer satisfaction. Their main goal is to generate sales while building strong customer relationships.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a roofing sales rep?

To thrive as a Roofing Sales Rep, you need strong sales acumen, knowledge of roofing products and installation processes, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with CRM software, estimating tools, and digital presentation platforms is commonly required. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills help differentiate top performers in this field. These skills are crucial for effectively identifying client needs, closing sales, and building lasting customer relationships in a competitive industry.
