Job description

GEODIS is searching for a ROM Solutions Engineer to accelerate how we qualify, scope, and advance growth opportunities within our existing customer base. This role is designed to solve a critical gap: too many opportunities enter solutioning without clear scope, resulting in wasted effort, slower cycle times, and missed momentum. You will act as the front-end quarterback rapidly assessing opportunities, aligning stakeholders, and determining the right path forward whether that’s quick ROM pricing, minor engineering support, or creating the full scope for Solutioning through GeoLaunch. This is a player/coach role that blends commercial strategy, operational understanding, and solution design to move fast and focus resources where we can win. We currently operate in a Hybrid office environment (4 days in office, 1 day remote).

Where This Role Fits in the organization:

  • Reports into: Strategic Engagement & Analytics (SE&A)
  • Acts as the gatekeeper and accelerator for Client Experience growth opportunities
  • Core interface between:
    • Client Experience
    • Solutions / Engineering / Project Finance
    • Customer

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Own front-end deal qualification and rapidly assess opportunities for scope clarity, viability, and win probability; eliminate low-value pursuits early
  • Force clarity on path forward and drive decisions between ROM pricing, minor engineering, or building a full scope for Solutioning to avoid wasted cycles
  • Deliver fast, credible ROM pricing and directional solutions that enable immediate customer decision-making
  • Quarterback deal execution across Client Experience, SE&A, Solutions, and Finance to maintain speed, alignment, and accountability
  • Engage customers directly to shape demand, clarify requirements, and align on near-term vs. long-term solutions
  • Set and enforce timelines and hold internal teams and customers accountable to milestones and deliverables
  • Accelerate and pass off high-probability deals into GeoLaunch with speed and precision
  • Challenge and elevate opportunity quality and eliminate “half-baked” deals before they reach Solutions
  • Standardize and scale ROM pricing frameworks to increase throughput and consistency

What You'll Own:
1. Opportunity Qualification & Pathing

  • Rapidly assess inbound Client Experience opportunities for viability, scope clarity, and probability to win
  • Define the right path forward:
    • Quick ROM pricing
    • Minor engineering / light design
    • Create full scope for Solutioning
    • Eliminate "half-baked" opportunities before they consume solution resources

2. ROM Pricing & Rapid Solutioning

  • Develop high-level pricing (ROM) and directional solutions based on customer needs
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver fast, credible, and actionable estimates
  • Balance speed with accuracy to enable customer decision-making

3. Deal Acceleration & Project Leadership

  • Act as the quarterback across CS, SE&A, and Solutions
  • Set clear expectations with customers and internal teams
  • Manage timelines, inputs, and deliverables to maintain deal momentum
  • Prioritize high-confidence opportunities and accelerate them into GeoLaunch

4. Customer Advisory & Solution Framing

  • Engage directly with customers to understand:
  • Immediate vs. long-term needs
  • Operational challenges and growth drivers
  • Educate clients on:
    • Fulfillment and automation technologies
    • Market trends and solution applicability
    • Position GEODIS capabilities through real-world examples and deployments

5. Network & Operational Design Support

  • Support SE&A network analyses with "inside the four walls" operational perspective
  • Outline high-level warehouse design, labor models, and throughput assumptions
  • Assess capacity constraints and recommend scalable solutions
  • Identify when automation or technology investments are warranted

6. Capability Building

  • Improve intake, qualification, and scoping processes across Client Experience
  • Reduce cycle time from opportunity to solution to win
  • Drive standardization of ROM pricing frameworks and tools
  • Support implementation of data-driven and BI tools for asset and labor optimization

Scope:

  • Supports existing customer growth opportunities across all lines of business
  • Engages across multiple accounts, regions, and solution types
  • Influences prioritization of Solutions and Engineering resources

Success Looks Like:

  • Significant reduction in unqualified opportunities entering Solutions
  • Faster cycle time from opportunity identification to pricing to solutioning
  • Increased conversion of high-confidence opportunities into GeoLaunch
  • Improved alignment between Client Experience, SE&A, and Solutions
  • Strong customer confidence driven by speed, clarity, and expertise

What This Role Is NOT:

  • Not a traditional Solutions Engineer (does not fully design solution)
  • Not a passive support role. Actively drives deal direction and momentum
  • Not purely pricing. This role blends pricing, solution framing, and strategy

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):

  • 5-10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, solution design, or engineering
  • Role will be based in Brentwood, TN.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, pricing models, and solution frameworks
  • Proven ability to move quickly in ambiguous environments and drive clarity
  • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and complex projects
  • Ability to translate customer needs into practical, scalable solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both customers and internal teams
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data, BI tools, and modeling
