Job description

Overview

FWI is building a team to deliver STEM outreach support services for the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Next-Gen Outreach Office at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. As the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Project Manager, you will serve as Ohio's Lead Partner for the FIRST LEGO League program - a nationally recognized robotics initiative for students ages 9-14 - managing all aspects of Ohio's tournament season, from qualifying events to the State Championship

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Lead Ohio Partner, maintaining direct relationship with FIRST representatives
  • Coordinate and manage administration of all Ohio FIRST LEGO League activities
  • Provide logistical and program support for the annual Ohio State Championship Tournament (~2.5 days)
  • Support all FLL Challenge teams (ages 9-14) statewide
  • Provide support to all Ohio qualifying tournaments
  • Develop and execute annual Ohio FLL program execution plan; provide training for partners statewide
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for local events and State Championship
  • Oversee the 'FLL Tournament in a Trailer' project including scheduling, maintenance, insurance, and transport
  • Procure and manage trophies, medals, and sponsor plaques as required by FIRST
  • Lead summer robotics camp, tournament training, and State Championship event
  • Update and maintain FLL social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in an education field
  • Minimum 1 year of functional area experience OR minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience
  • Active Ohio Teacher License (or any U.S. state teaching license) required
  • Direct experience organizing and executing a FIRST LEGO League Challenge Ohio Championship preferred
