How much do robot jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 19, 2026, the average hourly pay for robot in the United States is $28.24, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $22.12 and $32.93 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Robotics Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Robotics Engineer, you need a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, usually supported by a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python or C++), CAD software, and robotics platforms like ROS is typically required. Problem-solving ability, creativity, and effective teamwork are crucial soft skills in this field. These competencies ensure the design and implementation of innovative, reliable robotic systems to meet evolving industry needs.

What are robots?

Robots are programmable machines that can carry out a series of actions automatically or be controlled by humans. They are commonly used in manufacturing, healthcare, space exploration, and many other industries. Robots often have sensors, actuators, and software that allow them to interact with their surroundings and perform specific tasks. Their capabilities range from simple repetitive actions to complex problem-solving and autonomous decision-making.

What are some of the typical daily tasks involved in a Robotics Engineer role?

As a Robotics Engineer, your daily tasks often include designing, building, and testing robotic systems, as well as troubleshooting and refining prototypes. You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate hardware and software components. Regular responsibilities also involve documenting technical processes, performing system simulations, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires adaptability and strong problem-solving skills, as projects may evolve rapidly based on testing outcomes and technological advancements.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A robot, as a job title, typically refers to automated machinery rather than a human role. However, in the context of high-paying jobs without a degree, roles such as sales managers, real estate brokers, or skilled trades like electricians and commercial pilots can earn $10,000 or more monthly with experience and certifications. These positions often require specialized skills, training, or licensing but not necessarily a college degree.

What jobs can robots do?

Robots can perform a variety of jobs including manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and material handling in factories. They are also used in logistics, healthcare for surgery assistance, and in hazardous environments for tasks unsafe for humans, often requiring programming skills and technical maintenance knowledge.

What careers are in robotics?

Careers in robotics include roles such as robotics engineer, automation technician, control systems engineer, and research scientist. These positions often require knowledge of programming, mechanical design, and electronics, and may involve working with tools like CAD software and robotic simulation platforms.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

High-paying jobs for a robot or related roles typically include senior engineering positions, such as robotics engineers, AI specialists, or automation directors, often requiring advanced degrees and extensive experience. Executive roles in technology companies, like CTOs or VP of Engineering, can also reach or exceed this salary level, especially with leadership responsibilities and specialized skills. These positions usually involve complex problem-solving, programming, and management of large-scale projects or teams.

What is the difference between Robot vs Automation Technician?

AspectRobotAutomation Technician
CredentialsTypically requires robotics or engineering certificationsRequires technical certifications in automation or electronics
Work EnvironmentWorks with robotic systems in manufacturing or industrial settingsMaintains and repairs automated systems and machinery
Industry UsageCommonly used in robotics, manufacturing, and industrial sectorsFound in manufacturing, production, and automation industries
Search IntentPeople compare roles involving robotic systems and automationIndividuals look for careers in automation maintenance and repair

Robots are automated machines used in various industries, often requiring specialized robotics knowledge. Automation Technicians focus on maintaining and repairing automated systems, including robots. While both roles involve automation, robots are the physical machines, whereas Automation Technicians work on the systems that operate them.
