Job Description: Robot Maintenance Support 
Job Title: Robot Maintenance Support Engineer 
Location: Mountainview, CA (On-site) 
Role Overview: 
We are seeking a hands-on Robot Maintenance Support Engineer. You will ensure the daily health, maintenance, and uptime of our robot fleet. The mission is to keep every robot in working condition through rapid proactive inspections, troubleshooting and repair. You will be assigned to troubleshoot and repair as soon as a mechanical or electrical fault is flagged 
Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Monitor the fleet health dashboard in real-time and immediately start working on a robot that needs repair 
  • Troubleshoot the reason for failures such as mechanical (e.g., actuators, joints), electrical (e.g., harnesses, sensors), or software (e.g. script execution). 
  • Perform component replacements (e.g., hot-swapping batteries, PCB Assemblies, Motors, Actuators and other replaceable components) to return the robot to operation 
  • Provide status updates to assigned leads, program stakeholders and engineering teams about the progress and any challenges being faced 
  • Document the root cause and repair steps in a defect management system and to help prevent recurring failures. 
  • Track and support to improve individual and team’s key performance indicators (KPI) - Fleet Uptime, Mean time to respond (MTTR) and Mean time to Triage (MTTT) 
  • Strictly follow safety and information security policies 
  • Attend training sessions on new tools and techniques and help train new staff 
  • Report to work on assigned time to the assigned lead and be open to support weekend work as and when required 
  • Regular work hours will be 9AM to 5.30PM. Flexible to support in shift timings starting at 6 AM or afternoon shift starting at 2 PM or Evening Shift starting at 6PM. 
Skill Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • BS in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical with an understanding of basic Linux commands 
  • Experience in diagnosing electrical faults, mechanical problems and basic software issues 
  • Hand on experience in troubleshooting and repairing hand held electro mechanical devices or Robots. 
  • Hands on experience in soldering work in Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and wiring harness interconnects 
  • Hands on experience in assembling electro mechanical systems, sensors, fixing cameras, gear mechanism(smaller size assemblies like in Hand held devices or Robots) 
  • Should have basic computer knowledge to use defect management tools. Preferrable have exposure towards 8D analysis on troubleshooting 
  • Prior experience in flashing software and configuring in electronic controlled machines 
  • Ability to handle fast paced and high pressure work environments 
  • Ability to navigate a large facility and lift up to 50 lbs robot frames 
  • Excellent problem solving, documentation and communication skills 
  • Tier 3 - 10+ of relevant experience
