You will work hands-on with industrial electrical systems, automated production lines, and Fanuc robots to keep operations running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a stamping and welded assembly plant.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment, diagnose root causes of failure, and install new or repaired parts to restore reliable operation.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus up to 400 VAC and 800 amps, including transformers, power distribution components, and associated wiring.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic components of production machinery and automated equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair automated machinery and equipment, with a strong focus on Fanuc industrial robots and related automation systems.
  • Perform Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, and adjusting programs as needed to support production.
  • Understand and work with robot and automation I/O (inputs and outputs) to identify and resolve communication and signal issues.
  • Home robots and restore them to safe, known positions to support startup, changeovers, and recovery from faults.
  • Support robotic spot welding operations by maintaining weld programs, verifying weld quality, and ensuring correct robot paths and parameters.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support programmable logic controller (PLC)–based automation systems, particularly Allen-Bradley platforms, as part of the overall maintenance strategy.
  • Perform basic welding as needed to support equipment installation, modification, and repair.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support new project launches.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices when working with high-voltage equipment, robotics, and automated systems.
  • Document maintenance work, repairs, and modifications to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping and welded assembly operations.
  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical systems up to 400 VAC and 800 amps.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing Fanuc industrial robots in a production environment.
  • Ability to perform Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, and adjusting robot paths.
  • Capability to understand and work with robot I/O (inputs and outputs) to diagnose control and communication issues.
  • Experience homing robots and safely recovering from faults and interruptions.
  • Practical knowledge of robotic spot welding processes and associated equipment.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems, including robots, PLCs, and related control hardware.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers and automation components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Experience with basic welding techniques to support equipment installation and repair.
  • Comfort working with high-voltage equipment and adherence to electrical safety standards.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues in automated production systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a large stamping and welded assembly plant environment.
  • Exposure to high-volume automotive manufacturing or similar industries.
  • Hands-on experience with a high concentration of Fanuc robots in production settings.
