What is an RN Fellowship Program?

An RN Fellowship Program is a structured training program designed for registered nurses (RNs) who are transitioning into a new specialty or clinical area, such as critical care, emergency, or perioperative nursing. These programs typically combine classroom learning with hands-on clinical experience under the guidance of experienced nurse preceptors. The goal is to help RNs develop the specialized skills and confidence needed to provide safe, high-quality care in their new roles. RN Fellowship Programs are especially beneficial for nurses who are seeking to advance their careers or change specialties. Completion of a fellowship can improve job satisfaction and retention, while also enhancing patient outcomes.
