Responsibilities
(This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days flex-remote)

The UHS Corporate Insurance Department is seeking a Claims Paralegal who will the claims department in collaboration with legal department when needed, by handling several key functions with minimal daily direction.
Key Responsibilities Include:
    • Serves as Claims Paralegal support to the UHS Claims and Legal Litigation Team focused on discovery coordination, including assisting with reviewing and revising discovery responses for professional and general liability litigation and discovery document collection and management.
    • Manages the video preservation process for UHS risk and claims.
    • Assists in the logistical management of the legal invoice process in compliance with UHS cost control, litigation and billing guidelines, including creation of new matters in LegalTracker.
    • Special projects, multi-plaintiff litigations - as assigned.
    • Assists in the legal hold process for electronic preservation.
    • Attend weekly meeting with supervisor to review ongoing projects, work flow process, and new assignments.

Qualifications
High school diploma required with one to three years of experience required or three to five years of experience preferred. Paralegal certification, Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of tort litigation process and high degree of familiarity with discovery, including electronic discovery.
  • Experience with legal billing and legal logistical support.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word and ability to learn and utilize other web-based programs and databases, including Legal Tracker and Riskonnect.
  • Strong ability to work independently, take initiative and work well with others.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
