EMCOR Group, Inc. seeks a Director, Business Continuity Management, to provide enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) leadership, coordination, and program development across all EMCOR Operations. Partner with operating company, segment, functional (IT, Risk, Safety, Audit, Finance, Security & Compliance, Legal, HR, etc.), and executive leadership to design, maintain, and test contingency and recovery plans to minimize disruption during disasters, security incidents, or other emergencies. Collaborate with BCM technology providers to ensure solutions are aligned with program needs and reporting requirements are met. Direct the Business Continuity Steering Committee.

Business Continuity Management (BCM):

  • Leads the continuous improvement of EMCORโ€™s BCM plan and strategy; coordinates/communicates the strategy and its implementation with the Business Continuity Steering Committee and operating company leadership.
  • Oversees the execution of the Business Continuity Management Cycle: Analysis, Planning, Approval and Implementation, Maintenance, Exercise and Testing.
  • Manages the BCM platform/vendor relationship, engaging strategically as necessary and in line with contract parameters.
  • Integrates newly-acquired companies and operations into the Business Continuity Management Program.
  • Develops and maintains Business Continuity policies, procedures, guides, and learning resources.
  • Ensures a high level of collaboration and communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including Executive Leadership, Business Operations, IT, Security & Compliance, Risk, Safety, Audit, Finance, Legal, HR, and others.
  • Partners with IT teams to develop, maintain, and test IT disaster recovery plans for on-premises and hosted services.
  • Develops and facilitates testing, risk assessments, business impact assessments, and continuity exercises across all EMCOR operations; reviews results and implements ongoing improvements.
  • Disseminates best practices, lessons learned, and improvement plans captured from exercises or real-world events.
  • Leads the migration from Assurance Riskonnect to ServiceNowโ€™s Business Continuity Management system including configuration, data quality, reporting, and adoption.
  • Establishes training programs to ensure participants can execute their responsibilities when needed.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports program status and metrics. 

  • B.A. / B.S. or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with BCM technology platforms (ServiceNow BCM preferred).
  • Experience migrating from Assurance Riskonnect to ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Highly effective interpersonal, management, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with and communicating with executives and top management of complex organizations.
  • Experience operating independently with little day-to-day supervision, with tight deadlines, in high-stakes situations.
  • 7 years minimum experience working in Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery.
  • 7 years minimum project/program management in medium to large geographically diverse organizations.
  • Business Continuity certifications are a plus (CBCI/MBCP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Thorough understanding of business processes.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • General office, field construction or industrial environment.
  • Significant travel required (approximately 30-50%).
