Senior Strategy & Market Risk Program Manager

6+ MONTH contract to hire

Position Overview

is seeking a seasoned Senior Strategy & Market Risk Program Manager to partner closely with Product Owners and senior leaders to orchestrate multi-product initiatives across the Market Risk organization. This role serves as a strategic right-hand to upper management, ensuring delivery discipline, roadmap alignment, operational structure, and executive?level visibility across complex workstreams.

The ideal candidate is a strong business consultant with deep program management experience, hands?on expertise in JIRA, fluency with BI tools, and the ability to operate confidently within a Capital Markets / Investment Banking context.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnership & Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and right-hand partner to the hiring manager and senior Market Risk leaders.
  • Act as a business consultant, bringing structure, insight, and operational rigor to strategic initiatives.
  • Represent leadership priorities across teams and ensure alignment to strategic objectives.

Program & Delivery Management

  • Orchestrate multi?product initiatives across Market Risk, Risk Technology, and CIB teams.
  • Own and manage product roadmap creation, refinement, and delivery cadence tracking.
  • Guide managers across CIB on planning, sequencing, funding alignment, and workstream structure.
  • Support medium? to large?scale initiatives with credibility, organization, and disciplined execution.

Product Owner Support & Requirements Oversight

  • Partner with Product Owners across multiple product areas to gather and interpret end?user requirements.
  • Ensure that requirements are translated into actionable JIRA stories, epics, and timelines.
  • Provide structure and prioritization guidance to Product Owners based on business objectives.

JIRA & BI Tool Expertise

  • Serve as the team's JIRA subject?matter expert, owning dashboards, workflows, dependency mapping, and capacity tracking.
  • Track and report delivery progress, capacity, and cross?team dependencies.
  • Build and maintain program reporting using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

Reporting & Communication

  • Produce weekly and monthly executive?level status reporting, including risks, decisions, milestones, and financial/roadmap alignment.
  • Communicate crisply and effectively upward to senior leaders and sideways to Product Owners, Technology, and Risk partners.
  • Design and lead structured meetings, ensuring clear priorities, assignments, and issue escalation.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of program or strategy experience within financial services, preferably in Market Risk, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking.
  • Demonstrated experience orchestrating multi?product or multi?team initiatives.
  • Hands?on expertise with JIRA, including dashboard creation and dependency tracking.
  • Strong BI/reporting skills (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Proven ability to produce concise, executive?level reporting.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship?building skills.
