Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Packer - Shipping position is responsible for preparation and shipment of all outgoing product. Enters equipment information into appropriate management information systems/records and performs shipping functions for the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
  • Issues materials to work orders.
  • Prepares and continually updates shipping and receiving reports.
  • Compares identifying information and counts.
  • Weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Matches certification with shippers and ensues that equipment and accessories are in order with the shipper.
  • Ensures incoming and outgoing shippers are complete, accurate, and legible, and placed with the appropriate customer(s) equipment at all times.
  • Schedules and tracks all material processing required for the machine shop.
  • Performs general maintenance of all shipping equipment.
  • Strives for continued improvement of logistics and pricing structures.
  • Acts as a liaison between the production and sales departments.
  • Pulls orders from a pick sheet.
  • Operates and uses all equipment following standard work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations.
  • Exercises care and good judgment at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, rules and BRG Code of Conduct.
  • Practices good housekeeping by keeping work area, neighboring areas, and aisles clean and accessible.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
