PRIVATE CAREGIVER / HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANT-DEXTER, MI

Exceptional Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a Private Residence


A professional, compassionate, and highly capable individual is sought for a unique position assisting a private couple in their home. This long-term role is ideal for someone who takes pride in providing outstanding personal support, household assistance, and companionship while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.

The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the household, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the home while providing companionship and assistance to a retired executive gentleman experiencing significant mobility limitations and the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship, support, and assistance with daily activities
  • Coordinate household vendors, maintenance, and service appointments
  • Prepare nutritious meals for husband and wife
  • Grocery shopping
  • Run errands and provide transportation as needed
  • Walk and care for family dogs (2)
  • Perform light housekeeping and household organization
  • Assist with garage, grill, and general property upkeep
  • Handle occasional yard work and outdoor tasks
  • Assist with lifting client and other physically demanding household projects

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in caregiving, private household service, or senior care a plus; (paramedic, EMT, firefighter, and other professionals also considered)
  • Kind, patient, and genuinely service-oriented
  • Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Physically capable of assisting with mobility support and household tasks
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Strong references required
  • Experience supporting individuals with memory loss or Alzheimer's disease is highly desirable

Compensation/Schedule
Base schedule would be Monday-Friday, 10:30 am-6:30pm, however some flexibility is required,
along with occasional requests to stay overnight (with additional compensation).ย 
Position will be salaried at $40-$50/hr. based on experience.ย ย  Medical benefit stipend available.ย ย  3 weeks PTO.

Candidates already living in Michigan/Ohio preferred.ย ย  ย If relocation closer to Dexter is needed, a moving allowance would be offered.
