Job description

Job Title: Materials Project ManagerJob Description

A multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a dedicated Materials Project Manager to join its Springfield office. This role involves working directly alongside the Department Manager to support an active portfolio of geotechnical, construction materials testing, environmental, and engineering-related projects. The successful candidate will manage project execution from kickoff through completion.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee project scope, scheduling, budgets, forecasting, invoicing, quality, safety, client communication, and resource coordination.
  • Independently manage multiple projects while serving as a technical and operational leader for project staff and field personnel.
  • Assume ownership of projects, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure quality deliverables.
  • Support the continued growth of the department.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in project management, construction materials testing, environmental remediation, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Experience in building schedules, forecasts, and managing project budgets and profitability.
  • Ability to review scope changes and coordinate resources across departments.
  • Technical knowledge in reading plans and specifications, understanding engineering reports and recommendations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical field, OR 9+ years of related industry experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication skills and project financial management experience.
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP certification and professional engineer qualification are beneficial.
