Job description

Merchandising Consultant

Customer Operations - Pricing & Promotions | RELEX Solutions

North America (Atlanta preferred; open to remote for the right candidate)

Who we are

We're bold thinkers and kind teammates, growing fast but staying grounded. Our Nordic roots and global outlook shape a culture of friendliness, creativity, and collaboration, all powered by openness and shared wins. We care deeply about doing the right thing - and doing it together. We aim to improve the flow of goods, time, and energy - and we know we can't shape the future by clinging to the past. So, we keep evolving together.

What we do

RELEX Solutions delivers a unified supply chain planning platform for retailers and manufacturers, enabled by proven AI technology. We help companies optimize demand forecasting, replenishment, merchandising, pricing and promotions, supply chain operations, and production planning across the end-to-end value chain.

RELEX Solutions builds software that helps manufacturers, distributors, and retailers cut waste, run more efficiently, and build more sustainable supply chains. Our Pricing & Promotions platform gives retailers AI-driven pricing optimization and end-to-end promotional planning, and our US Merchandising Consulting team is the group that makes it work for real customers.

With a global team of over 2,000 professionals, we work side-by-side with our customers to solve real problems with lasting impact.  Companies trust RELEX to increase product availability, boost sales, deliver actionable insights, improve sustainability, and drive profitable growth. Join us and make an impact on the world and your career!

In response to our fast growth and market expansion,we are looking for...

We are hiring a Merchandising Consultant to lead pricing and promotion engagements across both implementation projects and ongoing service delivery. This is a hybrid role: you will configure our platform end to end and bring real merchandising judgment to the customers you work with. It is not a pure advisory seat, and it is not a pure technical seat.

What makes this role different

The hard part of this job is not the configuration. Our platform is UI-driven, and you will have technical consultants backing you on anything that lives in the database or the backend. The hard part is guiding the customer to a better way of working.

Your job is to understand the customer's strategy and implement our tool according to that strategy, not according to the workarounds they have lived with for years. That means walking in with an opinion. When a category manager asks "what do you expect us to do here?" you should have a recommendation, grounded in how the work gets done.

To do that well, you need to have lived the day-to-day yourself. You should understand the tradeoffs a category manager, pricing analyst, or promo planner works within, the tensions they manage, and where the friction sits. This role is built on practitioner capability.

What you'll do

  • Lead pricing and promotion engagements end to end, from process discovery and design through configuration, testing, and go-live
  • Configure the Pricing & Promotions platform to fit the customer's strategy, including promotional objectives, pricing rules, and workflow setup, with technical consultants supporting anything beyond the UI
  • Advise customers on how to run pricing and promotions, not just how to operate the software. Recommend an approach rather than transcribe their existing one
  • Support change management with the customer's end users. Adoption does not happen on its own; you will actively drive it, build confidence, and close the gap between a working system and a system people actually use
  • Use AI-assisted tooling to build solutions for your engagements quickly, such as configurations, queries, dashboards, and lightweight automations tailored to the customer in front of you
  • Develop analytics and KPI views that prove out the business case and track value after go-live
  • Present findings and recommendations to both operational teams and executive stakeholders
  • Support sales as a subject-matter expert: solution positioning, RFI responses, and ROI development
  • Work with global colleagues on international engagements and share what you learn back into the team

What we're looking for

Required: hands-on merchandising experience. This is the core of the role.

  • 4+ years in a hands-on merchandising, category management, pricing, or promotions role at a retailer or supplier (for example, owning a category, running a pricing strategy, or planning and executing promotions). We are looking for practitioner experience, not general retail consulting or project management
  • A point of view on how pricing and promotions should be run, and the confidence to recommend it to a customer
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts, and comfort working with large datasets to find the answer
  • The ability to translate a customer's strategy into a software configuration that supports it
  • Comfort leading people through change
  • Willingness and curiosity to use AI-assisted tooling to build things faster (we will help you get there if you are newer to it)
  • An adaptable, collaborative, self-directed approach. You can build a customer relationship and spot value without being told to
  • Fluent English, Willingness to travel up to roughly 25%

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing or supporting enterprise software through a full project lifecycle
  • A degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, industrial engineering, or supply chain
  • Experience gathering requirements, designing processes, delivering training, and supporting user acceptance testing
  • Fluent in Spanish

Where this role can go

As you build a track record, the natural path is to take on broader advisory responsibility for one or more customers, becoming their trusted voice on merchandising strategy. The deeper your practitioner judgment and the more fluent you become at building fast with AI tooling, the more impact you will have.

What we offer in return

You'll be supported and given the space to thrive. We offer meaningful work, flexibility, and a culture that backs you to share your voice and be authentic.

  • An international career and learning opportunities
  • A rapidly growing and financially robust software company with exciting opportunities for career growth, also in the future
