Job Purpose
The Retail Bank Manager (RBM) is responsible for leading all branch operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering an exceptional customer experience within assigned branch locations. This role oversees the daily activities of retail banking staff, implements bank policies and procedures, and ensures operational excellence while fostering a culture of service, accountability, and teamwork.
The RBM provides leadership and coaching to branch employees, supports business development efforts, and ensures adherence to the Bank's established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Schedule & Travel Requirements
  • Monday through Friday, with occasional evening hours as needed.
  • Travel between assigned branch locations for meetings, training, operational support, and other business-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews and implements policies and procedures for all aspects of Branch Sales, Service and Operations.
  • Ensures a consistent and positive customer experience including managing daily workflows, accuracy and timeliness for transactions and processing within the branch, ATM functionality and overdraft processing while adhering to established policies.
  • Monitors teller cash outages and staff errors and manages excess outages or errors with appropriate action to comply with established bank expectations.
  • Conducts branch self-audits and supervises the compilation of all reports. Proactively works with RBOO to ensure branch audits are timely, accurate and within retail bank scope.
  • Ensures all retail-focused collateral material including brochures, posters, signage and other marketing material is current and consistent with Bank standards.
  • Identifies opportunities and candidates for various bank products to enhance our overall customer relationships.
  • Is proactively involved in developing and leading the branch staff in referral opportunities to bank business partners.
  • As determined by management where necessary, may possess certain predetermined lending authority as necessary to assist with consumer and small business lending (RB II/RBM III).
  • As determined by management may have personal loan production and business development goals (RBM III).
  • Remains informed and comfortable with changes and product enhancements, sharing this information in weekly staff meetings that insure a consistent delivery throughout the Bank.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior that supports team efforts and enhances team behavior, performance, and productivity.
  • Manage/supervise employees, responsible for coaching and leadership. This included being engaged in the interview, hiring and on-boarding of new employee's process.
  • Embrace company culture, core values and leads the retail team in knowing, training, and coaching to Retail Service Level Expectations (SLE).
  • Enhance banks brand awareness by being involved in civic and community activity.
  • Proactively seeks business development opportunities within the market (RBM II/RBM III).
  • Develop and lead sales initiatives to include effectively managing scorecard production.
  • Conduct regular Staff meetings for informational/motivational purposes.
  • All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned, to support the Bank's mission and strategic objectives.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management, teamwork, organization, problem solving & project management skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years banking experience with 2-3 years management experience.
  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven leadership in sales and service.
