Job description

About The Bluebird Group
The Bluebird Group is a data-driven retail consulting and manufacturer's rep firm that helps brands win inside the world's most competitive retailers. We partner with some of the most innovative consumer brands and work side-by-side with teams at retailers like Target, Amazon, Walmart, Kroger, and more to turn great products into high-performing, well-executed businesses. We sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, data, and relationships - and we're growing.
As a Retail Account Manager on our Target team, you will be a true business partner to both Target and to our brand partners; responsible for turning plans into results, forecasts into sales, and issues into wins. You will be trusted with decision-making, retailer relationships, and business impact. If you love seeing the whole retail ecosystem - from supply chain all the way to shelf - this is where you get to do it!
What you'll do
You'll own and grow a portfolio of Target businesses by:
  • Acting as the day-to-day business lead between Target's merchandise planning teams and our brand partners
  • Managing demand planning and forecasting to drive in-stock, sell-through, and profitable growth
  • Proactively identifying supply chain, inventory, and execution risks - and solving them before they hit the shelf
  • Monitoring purchase orders, item setup, and inventory flow to keep the business moving
  • Analyzing sales, forecasts, and vendor performance to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Delivering weekly insights and reporting to help brands make smarter decisions
  • Maintaining clean, accurate data in Target systems and BBG's internal tools to support invoicing, cash flow, and operational clarity
  • Helping brands navigate Target's processes - from planograms and promotions to item setup and shipping

You'll thrive here if you have:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical skills - you're comfortable working with data to find issues and recommend actions
  • Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, filtering, grouping, etc.)
  • Clear, confident communication - written and verbal
  • A bias for ownership: you don't wait to be told; you see the problem and solve it
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Experience working with Target (corporate, vendor, or agency side) required
  • Exposure to demand planning, forecasting, or inventory management
  • Familiarity with Target's item or replenishment systems

What we offer
We believe people do their best work when they feel supported - financially, professionally, and personally. That's why we offer a benefits package designed to reduce stress, create stability, and help you build a future.
Support for everyday life:
  • Monthly parking or commuting stipend for our Minneapolis office
  • Cell phone plan or reimbursement to support how you actually work
  • Hybrid work in a collaborative environment with in-office presence required Tuesday-Thursday - we believe some of the best learning, problem-solving, and relationship-building happens when teams are together in person, and our Minneapolis office reflects that with an energized culture, a great building, an on-site gym, and a rooftop space to recharge and connect

Health & peace of mind:
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • HSA with employer match to help you save on healthcare
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance and life insurance so you and your family are protected

Your financial future:
  • 401(k) with employer match to help you build long-term wealth

We're intentional about creating a place where you can focus on doing great work - without constantly worrying about what happens if life throws you a curveball.
Our work environment
This is a professional, collaborative office-based role with flexibility built in. You'll spend your time working with data, meeting with partners, and collaborating with teammates - not pushing paperwork. If you want a role where you can learn fast, own real business, and build a career in retail, we'd love to meet you.
Our Commitment
The Bluebird Group is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace that celebrates individuality and collaboration. We value innovation, accountability, and mutual respect as cornerstones of our culture.
