Essential Duties:
  • Team: Manage café staff. Promote a positive work environment that encourages engagement, motivation, and productivity. 
  • Manage and execute La Farm’s human resource system which includes recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and developing staff. 
  • Identify staff goals and objectives, set clear expectations and monitor. 
  • Partner with HR to address people issues. 
  • Embody La Farm values through action, example and communication: Exceed Customer Expectations, Quality, Dignity, Community, Learning, Teaching and Innovation.
  • Product: Develop new items, bring progressive approach, ensure product freshness, innovations and new trends, and perform competitive checking. Ensure staff engages verbally with each customer and effectively sells through product quality and presentation.
  • Sales and Service: Increase sales to meet and exceed company goals. Achieve sales, food cost and expense objectives. Maximize sales through café atmosphere, du jour features, and consistent product quality and presentation. 
  • Ensure superior standards of customer service and act as Brand Ambassador.
Other Essential Duties:
  • Temporarily act as Café Manager when he/she is absent.
  • Help lead the cafe team by being a role model to others and supporting café operations through increased responsibilities.
  • Assist management in directing, controlling, and executing bakery operations to La Farm systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain labor schedules to ensure objectives are met for café. Complete Train the Trainer program.
  • Control inventory levels (and waste) and ensure proper ordering of supplies and café items.
  • Ensure system execution and ticket times are met and/or beat.
  • Ensure overall unit safety and sanitation goals and policies.
  • Maintain grade “A” or better by beating health and sanitation inspection standards.
  • Oversee overall café atmosphere including lighting, music, and cleanliness.
  • Uphold company standards and policies for open/close, checklists, and ticket times.
  • Ensure completion of café checklists and duties to time of day, week, quarterly and annual requirements.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and comply with all laws.
  • Ensure accuracy of reporting (sales, production schedules, waste sheet, ticket times, facility & vehicle R&M).
  • Address and manage staff questions, grievances, and concerns; elevate to senior management as needed.
  • Mid-level of cash handling and safe access.
