• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and treatments for patients, utilizing robust diagnostic skills and clinical judgment to make informed medical decisions.
• Collaborate with case management to ensure efficient discharge planning and support effective transitions of care for patients returning home or moving to follow-up services.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effectiveness and overall patient care, presenting ideas for process improvements to the team.
• Act as a consulting physician for patient referrals from other healthcare providers, utilizing evidence-based practices to address primary medical diagnoses and assessing patient hospitalization needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to meet insurance requirements and ensure compliance, advocating for patients by appealing any denials promptly.
• Engage in both inpatient and outpatient consultations for specialty care, including periodic on-call duties to provide comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in the state of Connecticut, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

• A demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• A current DEA number to prescribe medications is also required.

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies is preferred.
• Experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or a related field is advantageous, equipping the candidate with relevant skills for the fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems to facilitate efficient patient documentation and care coordination.
• Ability to communicate in a second language is considered a plus, enhancing patient interactions.
