Job description

Description:

The Pool Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of all resort pools, hot tubs, and aquatic areas. This role plays a critical part in creating a pristine and welcoming environment for guests by performing daily cleaning, water testing, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently during overnight shifts while supporting the resortโ€™s commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction.

Requirements:

Core Responsibilities

  • Remove debris from pools using nets, vacuums, and other appropriate tools.
  • Pressure wash pools and surrounding areas using specialized equipment.
  • Test and monitor water temperature, chemical balance, and water clarity; report any irregularities.
  • Brush pool walls and floors to remove algae and buildup.
  • Clean pool decks by sweeping and removing leaves, dirt, and other debris.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain pool equipment, including filters, pumps, motors, and heaters, to ensure proper operation.
  • Clean and organize warehouse and storage areas related to pool operations and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment in accordance with resort and safety standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies


  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and take initiative during overnight shifts.
  • Reliable attendance in accordance with established scheduling guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules based on the operational needs of the resort.
  • Ability to remain focused, manage time effectively, and complete tasks despite frequent interruptions.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for completing timecards, inventory, and chemical measurements.
  • Comfortable using computers or digital systems for basic data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff while upholding staff and guest confidentiality.
  • Willingness to assist with training new team members and act as a team leader when needed.
  • Previous pool maintenance experience preferred (3โ€“5 years), but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and stretch to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Safely operate resort vehicles, golf carts, trailers, pressure washers, and pool cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to push or pull heavy carts up to approximately 100 pounds and lift trash containers up to approximately 60 pounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including completing daily logs and paperwork accurately.
  • Physical capabilities including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
