Job description

The primary responsibility of a Security Officer  is to protect the assets of the Company, help maintain a safe business environment, and monitor and enforce associate compliance to Company policies and rules of conduct. Position pays: $20.00/hour.  Must have flexibility when it comes to shifts. Primarily swing and graveyard shifts. 

Responsibilities

  • Observe and report per BSIS licensing guidelines and the mandates of the State of California Business and Professions Code. Occasional exercise of Guard Card powers of arrest as authorized by the Director of Security and/or Security Supervisor, Front Office Manager or upper management, or under immediate and extreme circumstances when a felony or misdemeanor crime is committed in said Security Officers presence, or in the direct and immediate prevention of bodily harm, injury, or death to ones self or other.
  • Communicate with the Security Supervisor and Director of Security on internal and external investigations and physical security within the Resort. Maintain an open channel of communication with resort Management and all associates Participate in all Safety Programs throughout the Resort Meet all Resort and Loss Prevention Agent Training and Certification Requirements.
  • Patrol property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect hotel assets.
  • Comprehensive documentation of all crimes, property damage, and personal injury claims revealed or investigated during the course of assigned and scheduled duty. 

  • Specifically, documentation will consist of a DAR Report (Daily Activity Report) listing all routine activities with annotations for specific incidents (injuries, property damage, crimes).

  • Incident Report generation for injuries, property damage, and crimes that lists all necessary data (who, what, when, where, and why) along with reference to digital pictures if and when necessary.

  • Conduct regular & routine patrols of the entire property

  • Check physical security of the Resort facility to prevent and deter theft/fraudulent activity.

  • Represent the Resort in a professional manner throughout all court related procedures.

  • Communicate with the Security Supervisor and Director of Security on internal and external investigations and physical security within the Resort.

  • Maintain an open channel of communication with resort Management and all associates

  • Participate in all Safety Programs throughout the Resort

  • Meet all Resort and Loss Prevention Agent Training and Certification Requirements.

  • Effectively utilize the CCTV system and other technologies available throughout the Resort.

  • Conduct Surveillance when required as directed by the Security Supervisor, Director of Security, or Executive Team Members

  • Report ANY and ALL incidents/accidents to the Manager on Duty

  • Ensure that all Resort walking surfaces are safe and clear of potential hazards

  • Complete specific safety training courses as directed by the SM or DOS.

  • Always use and enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Lifting Techniques.

  • Work safely and report Associates who are acting in an unsafe manner.

  • Offer assistance to guests that are acting in an unsafe manner

  • Follow and complete all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the SM or DOS

  • Assist in the essential functioning of Resort Operations during times of crisis, need, or request whenever possible.

  • Provide customer service to Resort guests while on duty

  • Work with all Resort departments to get tasks accomplished

  • Back up and support functions for Valet, Front Desk, Golf and all departments as needed or requested

  • Assist various departments and guests by unlocking doors as requested

  • Escort employees & guests to their vehicles, rooms, and workstations as needed

  • Develop complete property knowledge and always be willing to help out

  • All reasonable requests of management
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year security experience. Basic report writing and descriptive writing skills. Must understand Microsoft Windows.
  • Have good knowledge of computer systems and customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability of work any shift including graveyard, weekends and holidays. Ability to respond to PBX, emergency calls and customer service calls in a calm and collected manner.
