General Job Description
Position Overview
IES Residential is seeking a Electrical Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The Electrical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for supporting advanced quality assurance and quality control operations to ensure projects, installations, and company processes consistently meet established standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with field personnel, project teams, leadership, and customers to identify quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed inspections, audits, and evaluations to ensure compliance with company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor project activities, operational processes, and workmanship quality to verify compliance with established procedures and expectations.
  • Identify quality deficiencies, document findings, and communicate corrective action requirements to management and field personnel.
  • Verify completion of corrective actions and perform follow-up inspections as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records, reports, inspection documentation, and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with project management, operations, field teams, and leadership to resolve quality-related concerns and improve operational performance.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, standards, and best practices across operations.
  • Analyze inspection results and quality trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Support training initiatives related to quality standards, compliance requirements, and workmanship expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide quality-related updates, recommendations, and reporting to leadership.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding quality expectations and concerns.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of quality control, inspections, construction operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Residential construction or service industry experience preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting process improvement or operational quality initiatives preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, and movement between office and job site environments.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Work in a typical office environment, sitting at a desk and performing prolonged computer work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
  • Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
