Position Summary
The Residential Account Manager for Elizabethtown Gas is responsible for growing residential customer conversions through proactive sales outreach, contractor engagement, and community involvement. This field-based role focuses on converting homes to natural gas and supporting customers through the conversion journey.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute targeted sales strategies to convert on-main and/or off-mail prospects to natural gas service.

  • Leverage cold calling, door-to-door outreach, and neighborhood canvassing to generate leads.

  • Provide clear guidance to customers on the conversion process and expected timelines.

  • Develop partnerships with contractors and trade professionals to build a strong referral network.

  • Track all customer and sales activity using Salesforce and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Promote energy efficiency program benefits during the onboarding process.

  • Attend sales trainings, team meetings, and community engagement events.

  • Work in the field, including site visits in varying environmental conditions.

  • Meets or exceeds territory and/or customer goals.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction by responding to customer needs, keeping customers informed and ensuring work is scheduled in an effective manner for the mutual benefit of customer and company

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.

  • Strong initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work independently.

  • Ability to effectively sell, listen, and communicate with customers

  • Ability to provide benefits of natural gas appliances over competitive fuel appliances

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Organizational skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Proficient in use of PC and multiple mainframe and software programs, including MS Office, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of city and state building and land regulations

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to read, interpret and apply engineering and architectural plans

  • Valid driver's license
