Description
JFSA of Cleveland has an immediate opening for a full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site Business Associate at our Eastside Cleveland office building.
This position works closely with the Controller and Staff Accountants on account analysis, reconciliation, daily cash deposits, and management of various HUD account activities, filing, and other accounting-related duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in annual audits such as HUD, licensure, social security, and Agency-wide.
- Participates in all client admissions and discharges from HUD entities as well as the annual certification of all tenant and project rental assistance contracts (PRAC).
- Performs account analyses as required, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, fixed asset accounts, and various balance sheet accounts.
- Trains all incoming accounts payable specialists.
- Assists in Medicaid renewal documentation for clients.
- Prepares journal entries as directed, including standard and recurring entries.
- Reconciles bank statements and monitors HUD accounts in compliance with Federal laws.
- Prepares monthly processing of all HUD payables and receivables.
- Trains other Agency staff on how they are to manage client funds, process monthly statements for clients, and monitor client balances and budgets for Medicaid/Sociail Security limits.
- Processes 1096 and 1099 forms.
- Processes and maintains staff-issued credit cards and upload into SAGE system.
- Demonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Educational/Training/Certification/Experince Requirements:
- College degree or equivalent experience in accounting or related field.
- Three or more years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Advanced computer experience with spreadsheets (Excel) required.
- Database experience with Sage 100 preferred.
- HUD Certification preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Ability to collaborate with staff at all levels
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- A high degree of individual initiative and ethical judgment is required.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
