Position Summary

The Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of the Company’s brand strategy and developing a small team of marketers to help drive brand growth and innovation.  They lead all activities of Brand Management, Beer Marketing, Brewpub Marketing, Brand and Market Research, social media, Creative Services, Events, Publicity, Company Communications, and Community Relations.  Leading the directives of the marketing team, this individual is responsible for driving beer brand and brewpub affinity, beer and beyond beer product innovation, keeping a finger on the pulse of KSBC target drinkers to create brand and product solutions grounded in consumer analytics that produce effective, powerful, and brand consistent marketing solutions for all of the Company’s marketing activities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and steward the brand across all channels, ensuring consistency in messaging, positioning, and execution.
  • Define and communicate the company’s marketing vision and annual plans, guiding cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with Beer Division and Brewpub teams to ensure all campaigns, content, and guest experiences reflect the brand.
  • Oversee product portfolio, pricing, and brand extensions across divisions.
  • Analyze market trends, data, and consumer insights to identify new opportunities.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Sales.
  • Direct creative strategy, including design, packaging, and marketing collateral.
  • Oversee social, digital, email, PR, and event content to ensure brand consistency.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing marketing team.
  • Manage budget, resources, and project execution from planning through completion.
  • Partner with external PR agency to deliver annual PR initiatives.
  • Lead ongoing consumer research and share insights with leadership.
  • Track market segments and customer behavior to inform decisions.
  • Test and refine initiatives through consumer feedback and loyalty groups.
  • Minimum 8 years in senior marketing roles supervising and developing marketing teams in CPG and/or restaurant categories.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or other business related field required. MBA or equivalent work experience is highly preferred.
  • Hybrid role. Our Home Office is in Poway.
