Deschutes Brewery is currently hiring a full-time, day shift Packaging Machine Operator. This position works closely with other co-owners of the team to operate the packaging line, working to get our Damn Tasty beverages into kegs, cans and bottles. Duties include but are not limited to operating various pieces of automated equipment on the packaging line; quality control and checking for accuracy on things such as 'bottled on' dates, expiration dates, and batch numbers; changing bottle labels and various other tasks in a production environment. Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred but not required!

This is a full time, day shift position with a typical schedule of 5:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Thursday. Schedule may change based on business need. Base wages when joining this team start at $18.36/hour for someone without experience and increase from there based on the previous experience you bring to the role. We also pay an additional night shift differential of $3.00/hour for all time worked between 6pm and 6am. This position offers a career path up to $28.60/hour for our employees who successfully complete our training program and hold several years of experience in this department. Additional opportunities for wage increases are also associated with cross-training, specialty licenses/certifications and promotional opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Eagerness and ability to learn our specialty brewery equipment and machinery
  • Focused attention on training for safety and standard operating procedures
  • Experience in a team-based environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Previous manufacturing or production or forklift experience is preferred
