Job description

Position Summary

The Manager Sustainability Reporting and Analytics is responsible for managing the internal and external reporting of Republic Services sustainability initiatives. The incumbent will support the analysis used to further align our business practices and services with our sustainability and government rules and regulations. The Manager Sustainability Reporting and Analytics will leverage their reporting knowledge and leadership skills to drive improvements of the Republic Services sustainability reputation.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Manages, contributes to, and supervises all sustainability related disclosures, ensuring governance and controls of data.
  • Manages pathways for the integration of sustainability analytics within business processes.
  • Supports the development and implementation of analytical tools supporting new and existing businesses to drive profitable growth.
  • Monitors and evaluates progress and collects feedback from business units to ensure the company remains on track for its economic and sustainability goals.
  • Serves as a point of contact within the business for all sustainability-related questions, providing sales and service support to promote sustainability throughout the business.
  • Leverages environmental and sustainability business industry knowledge to craft integrated sustainability content and messaging for internal and external audiences.
  • Monitors and benchmarks reporting trends and changes to reporting standards to provide insights and recommendations on advancing Republic's external reporting practices. Adjusts reporting to reflect updates to reporting best practices.
  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance by keeping up to date with relevant legislation and providing advice and guidance.
  • Coaches and develops a team of professionals to assist in their development and attainment of necessary skills to lift performance. Monitors staff performance and drives performance initiatives and ensures that service levels meet or exceed agreed upon standards.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of sustainability reporting and accounting, such as carbon accounting or related measures.
  • Ability to lead end-to-end project execution, managing multiple stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ratings/ranking agencies and associated stakeholders, preferred.
  • Experience in waste, transportation, or environmental services industry, preferred.
  • Experience in managing data ecosystems and vendors to drive business outcomes, preferred.
  • Ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics and garner excitement and interest among stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, grasp new concepts with ease, and apply agile problem-solving to drive efficient outcomes.
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting and data analytics, preferred.
Minimum Requirements

4-7 years of work experience in corporate sustainability, sustainability consulting, corporate governance, or related field.
