Position Description:
The Data and Reporting Analyst will serve as the enterprise reporting hub and data governance steward. You will own the reporting work stream for our Enterprise Application Portfolio implementation, lead a comprehensive audit of existing reports to ensure continuity post-implementation, and establish the foundational processes and infrastructure for enterprise-wide data management and self-serve analytics. This role bridges business intelligence, data governance, and operational analytics, working across internal teams, vendors, and consulting partners to ensure visibility and access to data it needs to operate and grow effectively.
This role is required on-site in Midlothian, Virginia.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
EAP Implementation Reporting Leadership
. Own the reporting work stream for our Enterprise Application Portfolio implementation. Audit all existing reports, map them to the new system landscape, and ensure critical reporting capabilities are preserved and enhanced through the transition.
. Serve as the primary point of accountability for reporting continuity throughout implementation.
Enterprise Data Inventory & Governance
. Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all data sources, reports, and reporting systems across operating companies and functional departments.
. Ensure data lineage and data flows are documented, and establish governance processes that ensure data quality, consistency, and appropriate access controls enterprise wide.
Reporting Backlog Management
. Maintain and prioritize a backlog of reporting and analytics requests from across the organization. Assess feasibility, complexity, and business impact to guide resource allocation and prioritization.
Reporting Portal (CAP, etc.) Administration
. Administer the reporting portal on an ongoing basis, administering access, managing the feature backlog and coordinating with the vendor.
Power BI Development
. Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that serve business intelligence needs.
. Translate business requirements into effective visualizations and analytics that drive operational and strategic decision-making.
Data Architecture Collaboration
. Work alongside consulting partners building out the data Lakehouse infrastructure.
. Develop a working understanding of the emerging data model and schema, collaborate on data integration questions, and ensure the architecture serves current and future reporting requirements.
Self-Serve Analytics Enablement
. Help establish the foundation for self-serve analytics and reporting across the organization. Enable teams to access and explore data cubes and self-serve reporting platforms, and serve as a primary resource for analytics literacy, report building assistance, and adoption of data-driven decision-making habits.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YEAR ONE
. A complete audit of existing reports is documented, and all critical reporting capabilities are mapped, validated, and transitioned into the new EAP landscape with no gaps in continuity.
. A living enterprise data inventory is in place, knowing what data it has, where it lives, how it flows, and who can access it.
. Power BI dashboards are live and easy to find and are actively used by business units and functional leaders to support operational decision-making.
. Data Portal Administration (including CAP) is centralized and running smoothly.
. A prioritized reporting backlog is maintained and visible, with a clear process for intake, triage, and delivery.
. At least one team is independently using self-serve reporting tools with documented support from this role.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Demonstrated proficiency in designing, building, and deploying Power BI reports and dashboards in a business environment.
. Solid working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
. Experience establishing or working within data governance frameworks, managing data quality, and implementing data management processes.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset - able to understand complex business requirements, identify appropriate data sources, and translate them into actionable analytical solutions.
. Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external vendors and consultants, translating between technical and business language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Construction industry or similar field operations experience that provides insight into operational complexity and reporting needs in specialized environments.
. Experience with data modeling and understanding of relational database design.
. Familiarity with data Lakehouse architectures or emerging analytics
