Position Overview

The role of the Golf Course Laborer is to perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and demonstrate VIVAMEE’s core values in all aspects of work.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Operate mowers, string trimmers, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Maintain greens, tees, aprons, fairways, roughs, banks, hillsides, cart paths, and landscaped areas.
  • Edge cart paths and maintain sand bunkers, including raking and grooming.
  • Set daily tee markers and hole locations on greens.
  • Maintain course amenities, including ball washers, tee towels, and flags.
  • Remove debris and perform divot repair through sanding and seeding of tees and drop areas.
  • Monitor fuel and fluid levels for assigned equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist with irrigation, watering, fertilization, and chemical applications under the supervision of a certified applicator.
  • Support golf course improvement projects, including construction and renovation of greens, tees, and fairways.
  • Prepare and grade soil, lay sod, and seed turf areas as needed.
  • Operate larger equipment, such as tractors, loaders, and gang mowers, when directed by the Golf Course Superintendent.
  • Maintain the grounds of the hotel and winery, ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive appearance.
  • Perform landscaping duties, including mulching, planting, pruning, and removal of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous golf course, landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of turf management, irrigation, and landscape maintenance is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality grounds and landscaping standards.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed.
