Senior Director, Business Development - Remote, US

As a Senior Account Executive at ICON, you will foster client relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.

This role leads business development strategy across realworld data, evidence generation, and outcomesfocused solutions, working closely with internal crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders to expand market presence and revenue.

The Senior Director will identify, structure, and execute highvalue partnerships with life sciences companies, healthcare organizations, and other ecosystem partners, translating complex realworld insights into compelling commercial propositions.

What You Will Do:

Your experience in account management and client services will be key in delivering high-quality outcomes and mentoring colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead complex partnership discussions, including licensing, collaboration, data partnerships, and longterm strategic alliances
  • Own endtoend deal execution, including opportunity assessment, value proposition development, negotiation, and contract finalization
    Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to structure commercially sound and compliant agreements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a primary point of contact for communication and support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs, develop solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of services.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and revenue growth, leveraging industry trends and market insights.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and close.
  • Monitor account performance, track key metrics, and identify areas for improvement to enhance client satisfaction and retention.

Your Profile:

You will have a strong foundation in account management and client services, with the experience to work independently and guide others.
Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, life sciences, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in account management, sales, or client services within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 40%)
