The Details:

ย In-Office Requirements:ย This role requires up to 10% presence at our Downtown Seattle headquarters.ย  Standard business hours Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:30 a.m.โ€“5:00 p.m.

Remote Work Eligibility:ย For employees residing outside of the Seattle metropolitan area, remote work may be considered in Washington.

About the Position:

Reporting to the Managing Director of Benefits Operations, the Senior Director of Benefits Operations, serves as a senior strategic partner guiding leadership development, program design, and operational delivery of a comprehensive suite of programs that serve caregivers in Washington, Montana, and beyondโ€”one of the nationโ€™s fastest growing workforces.

This leader plays a critical role in strengthening the organizationโ€™s ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable programs by driving strategic planning, shaping the organizational narrative, and enhancing engagement with the Board management and external stakeholders. Working closely with the Managing Director, this role helps translate strategy into action, ensuring alignment between long-term vision, policy priorities, and operational outcomes.

Combining strategic insight, stakeholder influence, and leadership capability, this position enhances organizational effectiveness and continuity while building internal leadership capacity. The role is designed to reinforce long-term business stability, elevate strategic decision-making, and maximize impact for caregivers and stakeholders through thoughtful partnership, innovation, and execution.

You Will:ย 

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Managing Director and Benefits Operations leadership team, helping shape direction, clarify tradeoffs, and translate priorities into actionable plans;
  • Drive multi-year strategic planning, including development and ongoing refinement of an integrated roadmap that aligns people, process, and partner capabilities to organizational goals;
  • Support benefit plan design and strategy development by guiding key questions, framing options, and strengthening decision-making processes;
  • Build and cultivate lasting stakeholder relationships across labor partners, participating employers, the Board management, and community stakeholders to advance shared outcomes;
  • Represent the department and the organization in executive-level and external forums, communicating with credibility, clarity, and influence;
  • Influence cross-functional alignment and coordinate execution of strategic priorities ensuring shared accountability and momentum across teams;
  • Lead and develop a team of Directors, fostering a culture of performance, growth, and accountability;
  • Build internal leadership capacity by identifying and developing high-potential talent to strengthen succession and continuity across the Benefit Operations Organizational Unit;
  • Guide the selection, engagement, and evaluation of strategic partners, including benefit design advisors, carriers, and vendors, ensuring strong fit, performance, and alignment with strategic goals;
  • Lead development of strategic narratives for executive leadership and Board management to provide clear priorities, progress, and impact;
  • Oversee the preparation of and delivery of transparent, efficient reporting to Board management on key aspects of benefits administration, including performance, compliance and strategic outcomes;
  • From time-to-time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

You Will Need to Have:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of education;
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including leading through other leaders;
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise or multi-year strategic planning, translating strategy into roadmaps, priorities and measurable outcomes;
  • Established competency in executive communication and experience in creating board-ready narratives, materials, and presenting complex topics with clarity;
  • Proven ability to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholders;
  • A track record of driving cross-functional alignment and delivering results in complex, matrixed environments;
  • Experience overseeing and optimizing vendor and partner ecosystems with an outcomes mindset;
  • Great judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and support high-quality leadership decision making.

Salary Range:

  • $125,518.40 to $171,068.70ย 

Benefits:
