This role is ideal for those who prefer flexibility and enjoy organizing events without being physically present at the location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote wedding planner?

To thrive as a Remote Wedding Planner, a strong background in event planning, organizational abilities, and attention to detail is essential, often supported by relevant experience or a degree in hospitality or event management. Familiarity with project management software, virtual collaboration tools like Zoom or Slack, and wedding planning platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills help build client trust and manage vendor relationships from a distance. These competencies ensure flawless event coordination, smooth client interactions, and successful execution of weddings regardless of location.

What are some of the main challenges remote wedding planners face, and how can they be managed effectively?

One of the primary challenges faced by Remote Wedding Planners is coordinating events and communicating with clients and vendors without in-person meetings. This requires exceptional organization, proactive follow-ups, and leveraging virtual meeting platforms to ensure everyone stays informed and aligned. Overcoming time zone differences or language barriers may also be necessary, depending on the wedding location and team members. Successful remote planners use detailed checklists, regular video calls, and clear documentation to manage logistics and foster strong working relationships. Embracing these best practices can help ensure a seamless planning process and memorable wedding experiences.

Can I be a remote wedding planner as a side hustle?

Remote wedding planners can often work as a side hustle, managing planning tasks, vendor communication, and client consultations remotely. Success depends on time management, relevant skills, and the ability to handle client needs outside of regular hours. Many use digital tools like project management software and communication platforms to coordinate events efficiently.

How much money can you make as a remote wedding planner?

Remote wedding planners typically earn between $30,000 and $75,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and the number of clients managed. Successful planners with strong organizational skills and industry connections can earn higher incomes through commissions, fees, and added services.

Job description

Job brief

Join Elite Escapes and turn your passion for travel into your next career.

As a Remote Travel Planner (Sales-Focused), you'll turn travel dreams into booked itineraries by pairing destination expertise with a consultative, client-first sales approach. You'll design custom trips while guiding clients from their first what if? to a confirmed reservation — whether it's a solo escape, a group getaway, a destination wedding, or a family travel experience.

What You'll Do
  • Craft personalized travel plans: flights, stays, tours, cruises, and packages built around each client's budget, style, and must-haves.
  • Connect with clients to uncover their ideal trip, present tailored options, and confidently close the sale.
  • Resolve questions and concerns promptly and professionally (payments, date changes, room upgrades, add-ons, etc.).
  • Add value with insider knowledge: hidden gems, top photo spots, local experiences, and timely deals that make each trip special.
  • Stay with clients from start to finish — pre-trip planning and payment coordination, on-trip support, and post-trip follow-ups and reviews.
What You Bring
  • Strong communication and people skills; comfortable leading conversations, handling objections, and guiding clients to a decision.
  • Ability to juggle multiple quotes, itineraries, and bookings without dropping details.
  • Fast learner when it comes to new tools — CRMs, booking engines, analytics dashboards, and collaboration platforms.
  • Background in sales, customer service, hospitality, or travel is a bonus, but not required — we provide full training.
  • Genuine love for travel and helping others explore with confidence
What You Get
  • Fully remote role part time or full time
  • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing coaching on products, suppliers, and sales-driven planning techniques.
  • A collaborative, supportive team culture.
  • Room to grow and specialize

This role moves quickly, but if you're the person who keeps itineraries, bookings, group trips, and collaborations running smoothly — turning conversations into confirmed trips and memorable experiences — you'll thrive here.
