Job description

The Project Scheduler will create, maintain and update schedules for the self-performed MEP trades of construction projects. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a working knowledge of MEP trades (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC/R and electrical). The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site supervision, and subcontractors to develop and update accurate schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, with a significant focus on MEP trades
  • Collaborate with project managers, site supervision, and subcontractors to establish timelines
  • Monitor and update project progress
  • Implement scheduling strategies to mitigate conflicts and delays
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with project deadlines and client expectations
  • Utilize scheduling software to track and report on project timelines
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of resource loaded schedules
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Analytical skills to evaluate project progress and make schedule adjustments as necessary
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing schedules
  • Problem-solving abilities to mitigate potential schedule delays and issues
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of construction processes and best practices focusing on self-performed MEP trades
Education/Experience:
  • 3-5 years of scheduling experience with a focus on MEP trades
  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in construction scheduling or project management
Travel Requirements:
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs, to attend meetings, trainings, and events. 
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips. 
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment. 
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.
