Role Summary
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant responsible for leading client engagements, discovery, requirements definition, and solution design across Salesforce Marketing Cloud and adjacent engagement platforms in life sciences and healthcare environments. This role blends customer success, business analysis, functional architecture, and delivery coordination, acting as the primary client-facing lead for engagement planning, requirements capture, solution design, and implementation execution. The role partners with client stakeholders, internal delivery teams, agencies, Solution Architects, and developers to define omnichannel marketing goals, translate them into delivery-ready solution designs and user stories, and drive implementation through launch and ongoing optimization. This is a senior, client-facing individual contributor role. Limited travel 10% or less. Fully remote.
Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client lead for Salesforce Marketing Cloud engagements, building trusted relationships with marketing, brand, digital, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Lead client-facing discovery sessions, journey mapping workshops, and working sessions to understand business goals, campaign objectives, customer journeys, audience needs, and success metrics.
  • Capture, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for email, SMS, web, and omnichannel engagement programs.
  • Translate business goals and requirements into Marketing Cloud solution designs, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, journey requirements, and implementation-ready backlog items.
  • Define future-state customer journeys, audience segmentation approaches, content sequencing, trigger logic, and campaign orchestration requirements.
  • Partner with Solution Architects, Marketing Cloud Developers, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are complete, feasible, and aligned to platform best practices.
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving alignment across client, delivery, and agency partners.
  • Lead implementation coordination across client teams, internal developers, QA, PMO, and agency partners.
  • Support omnichannel engagement strategy, journey planning, and customer journey mapping across Marketing Cloud and adjacent digital touchpoints.
  • Work with agencies and client marketing teams to align campaign strategy, content readiness, asset delivery, deployment timelines, and launch sequencing.
  • Provide informed solution guidance on Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, audience segmentation, and personalization use cases.
  • Support Data Cloud-driven engagement requirements including audience activation, segmentation, identity considerations, and downstream use in Marketing Cloud.
  • Support implementation planning, backlog prioritization, UAT planning and execution, including test scenario definition, defect triage, business validation, and sign-off coordination.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks and dependencies, and keep stakeholders aligned on scope, timing, and decisions.
  • Own functional solution documentation including process maps, requirements documents, decision logs, journey maps, and release summaries.
  • Support post-launch optimization and customer success activities, including roadmap planning, enhancement intake, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Support regulated life sciences delivery needs, including documentation quality, traceability, consent considerations, and change control discipline.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, marketing technology, business analysis, customer success, consulting, engagement management, or similar client-facing delivery roles.
  • Required pharma, biotech, healthcare, or regulated life sciences marketing technology experience.
  • Required experience supporting Salesforce Marketing Cloud programs in a delivery, business analysis, customer success, architecture, or campaign operations capacity.
  • Hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience sufficient to understand journey logic, campaign configuration, audience segmentation, audience data, deployment workflows, and platform constraints.
  • Strong experience leading discovery, requirements gathering, journey design, and writing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and test scenarios for email and omnichannel programs.
  • Experience leading client engagements and managing customer relationships through implementation and ongoing optimization.
  • Experience working with development teams and coordinating with developers, QA, PMO, and agency partners to drive implementation, testing, launch, and issue resolution.
  • Experience working with agencies and managing multi-party delivery models.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing, omnichannel engagement, customer journey mapping, digital marketing operations, campaign delivery, and engagement measurement.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have
  • Salesforce certifications such as: Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Developer, or other Salesforce certifications.
  • Understanding of consent and privacy frameworks in U.S. and global pharma scenarios.
  • Experience working with offshore or distributed delivery teams.
