QE Solar manages well over 3GWs of PV/BESS projects and hundreds of employees, providing renewable assets owners the most reliable renewable asset service from coast-to-coast. QE Solar is known for an owner's mindset in delivering consistent quality and service to our clients with a sense of urgency because we know maintenance issues impact the bottom line.
As a Commercial Operations Lead - Utility, you are responsible for managing a key client relationship and ensuring the successful delivery of QE Solar's operations and maintenance services for utility-scale solar facilities. The Commercial Operations Lead - Utility serves as the primary point of contact for the assigned client and coordinates cross-functional operational activities to meet or exceed all contractual and performance obligations. Success in this role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with a thorough understanding of solar operations, compliance requirements, and financial processes.
Travel Requirements: Approximately once per quarter, or as needed for site visits.
This position requires candidates to be located within the Eastern Time Zone. Preferred locations include the greater Springfield, New Jersey; Atlanta, Georgia; and Raleigh, North Carolina areas. Applicants residing in New Jersey will be expected to work on-site at our headquarters in Springfield as required.
Essential Duties & Approximate Commitment of Time
1. Manage client relationships, act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts,
and ensure all contractual obligations are met. Lead regular client touchpoints and
reporting sessions to communicate plant performance, ongoing activities, and
compliance status. 25%
2. Coordinate operational activities across cross-functional teams to ensure smooth
execution of QE Solar's O&M services. 'Quarterback' operations to align internal
teams and deliver seamless service. 25%
3. Review operational reports (e.g., performance reports, testing and inspection
results) and solicit input from key stakeholders to support strategic decision making and drive optimal plant performance. 20%
4. Support compliance efforts, including familiarity with applicable NERC standards
and GADS reporting, to ensure all operational and reporting obligations are met
across QE Solar-managed assets.15%
5. Assist with financial processes including client quoting, procurement coordination,
and invoicing activities to ensure accurate and timely execution of financial
obligations. 10%
6. Complete administrative tasks necessary to support internal coordination,
documentation, and client deliverables. 5%
Education Required
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience Required
5+ years of experience in client or account management within the utility energy industry. Experience in solar operations, NERC compliance, or energy services project management.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge
Familiarity with renewable energy systems, power generation operations, NERC compliance, and performance analytics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication tools.
