The choice depends on whether the project requires frequent site visits or centralized management.

LEAD FAST-PACED PROJECTS ACROSS MULTIPLE PROJECT SITES

Osborne is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead commercial construction projects--primarily within our EV infrastructure division--across the Midwest region. We're looking for someone who can adapt quickly, take ownership in the field, and keep projects moving efficiently from start to finish.

ABOUT US:

Osborne is a Topeka, Kansas-based commercial general contractor proudly celebrating 50 years of building across the country. We specialize in design-build commercial construction, facilities maintenance, and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. With a strong foundation built on integrity, dependability, and quality, we're known for doing what's right--every time. Our team is made up of smart, humble professionals who value accountability, consistent execution, and long-term partnerships. Whether in the field or behind the scenes, we take pride in delivering results that stand the test of time. Learn more at: www.osborne.com

IS THIS ROLE A FIT FOR YOU? You may be a great match if you:

  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, crews, and project teams
  • Are highly organized and able to keep projects moving on schedule
  • Take ownership of job site performance, safety, and quality
  • Are adaptable and can pivot quickly as project conditions change

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Traveling Superintendent, you'll lead multiple commercial job sites, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule goals are met. This role requires strong field presence, consistent communication, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts across short-duration, fast-paced projects.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations across one or multiple job sites
  • Manage subcontractors, crews, and site activities with accountability
  • Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and codes
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Coordinate schedules, sequencing, and daily progress
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers and internal teams
  • Generate POs, Change Orders, and cost estimates in collaboration with PMs
  • Identify and resolve issues in the field to prevent delays
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and job site compliance
  • Provide high-quality client experience and communication
  • Utilize construction technology and tools to track progress and performance

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in commercial construction (required)
  • Experience with site work, utilities, concrete, or civil scopes strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects or fast-paced job sites
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field operations
  • Experience with construction software (JobPlanner, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Willingness to travel 2-4 weeks at a time (or longer based on project needs)
  • Ability to fly as needed (Real ID or valid passport required)
  • Valid driver's license and clean MVR
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

BENEFITS & PERKS

  • $70,000 - $95,000 based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance (company-shared premiums)
  • 3-weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) on accrual basis
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with 3.5% employer match
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Company vehicle or travel reimbursement
  • Paid per diem + hotels (you keep the points)
  • A team environment that values accountability, communication, and results
